Arvustused

'As modern medicine gives us longer, fuller lives it has never been more important to support our brain health. Barbara and Christelle have brilliantly distilled this complex science into easily achievable methods, therein providing readers the opportunity to maintain the best possible brain health.' Lord Darzi of Denham, OM, KBE, PC, FRS, Imperial College London 'With all the pressures of modern living, many of us are looking for ways to maintain or improve our health and wellbeing. We are increasingly aware of the importance of realising our potential and fulfilling purposeful roles in our communities and society for realising this goal. In an easy and evidence-packed read, Brain Boost shows just how you can develop healthy lifestyle habits to improve your sleep, diet, exercise, cognition, and mood. The lucid explanation by the expert authors that details just how these habits work to improve brain, cognition. and wellbeing is a particular highlight. Give yourself a boost and treat yourself to this book!' Irene Tracey, CBE, FRS, FMedSci., Vice-Chancellor, University of Oxford and author of Pain: A Ladybird Expert Book 'Healthy Habits for a Happier Life demonstrates how simple lifestyle changes can make a huge difference to our brain health and general wellbeing. This is a book written by two experts in the field for anyone seeking to lead a fulfilling life through happiness, health, and personal growth.' Hermann Hauser, FRS, FREng, KBE, Amadeus Capital Partners 'This engaging and highly accessible book provides a treasure trove of information about how to increase wellbeing across the lifespan. Unlike many 'quick fix' books about achieving happiness, this one focuses on seven well-documented correlates of wellbeing. Rather than simply telling the reader what to do, the authors draw upon deep knowledge in behavioural and cognitive neuroscience to explain what seems to link these factors to wellbeing, why changing behaviour can improve health and mental health, and how to overcome the inertia we all face when trying to change our habits. To other readers, my advice is, pay attention to this one!' Terry L. Jernigan, Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Science, Psychiatry, and Radiology, University of California, San Diego
