Wonderful fun and inspirational stories from 50 years ago, written by people who spent many summers at a summer camp for kids and adults with disabilities in the Catoctin Mountains in MarylandNaugle provides a book of stories that were written by both staff and campers who attended Camp Greentop in the 1960 s and 1970 s. It was a time before the Americans with Disabilities Act. Camp Greentop was a rustic but incredibly beautiful camp that presented physical challenges that were negated by an empathetic staff. The staff s purpose was to provide campers with opportunities that would challenge them to overcome physical and emotional barriers that gave every camper a feeling of self-worth, independence and a positive vision for their future. This book tells their stories. About the AuthorMichael Naugle is a retired Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator for the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks. During the summer of 1978, he was the Camp Greentop Director. His experiences at Greentop helped to shape his career. He lives with his wife, Cass in Mt. Airy, Maryland. When not writing or playing with his grandkids, he is at the gym, working on completing his third fundraising tour around the world on a stationary bike and will complete his 75,000 miles in August of 2025 which will benefit Type 1 Diabetes research. Camp Greentop: Our Favorite Years is Naugle s second book.
