About the Authors 157
Andrew D. Madsen has degrees in anthropology and history from the University of California, Berkeley and College of William and Mary. He is an historical archaeologist who has worked on numerous prehistoric and historic sites in the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern U.S. ranging from the Early Archaic to recent historic times. He is also trained as an object conservator
