This new volume addresses the burning issues of the impact of climate change, the alteration of environmental quality, and subsequent mitigation and adaptation strategies through various agroecosystem practices, primarily in agroforestry.



The book discusses in depth the impact of climate change on forests and other agroecosystems. It presents new research on mitigation strategies, looking at carbon sequestration in agricultural soils, environmental greening, natural resource management, and livelihood security. It provides a thorough analysis of the potential of various modern, improved, and scientific farming practices, such as climate-smart agriculture and agroforestry systems for climate change mitigation and adaptation. The book also examines the invasion of major fungal diseases in forests and agricultural crops due to climatic fluctuations and goes on to look at water and waste management practices.

Abhishek Raj, PhD, is a Research Scholar in the Department of Forestry at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, and is the author or co-author of more than 20 research and review papers in peer-reviewed journals, 10 book chapters, and several extension articles.

Manoj Kumar Jhariya, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Farm Forestry at Sarguja University Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India, and is the author or co-author of more than 60 research papers in peer-reviewed journals along with four books, many book chapters, and several extension articles. He is an editorial board member of several journals and a life member of several professional organizations.

Dhiraj Kumar Yadav, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Farm Forestry, Sarguja Vishwavidyalaya, Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India. He has published many research papers and articles, over 10 book chapters, and several of books with national and internationally reputed publishers. He is a member of several academic societies of India.

Arnab Banerjee, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Sarguja Vishwavidyalaya, Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India. He has published over 60 research papers in reputed national and international journals as well as five books and 10 book chapters. He is a life member of the Academy of Environmental Biology.
