Having fought courageously for four years in the Civil War, Whahoo White heads west to seek his destiny.  His plan is to round up a thousand head of Longhorn cattle running free in west Texas and to drive them to the Colorado gold and lead mines.  The vast herds of buffalo had been hunted to near extinction and the few cattle that had been in Colorado had been consumed long ago.  Thus, there had been little or no meat to eat for miners or Indian tribes for over two years.  Whahoo's intelligence, strength and courage will be tested as never before by hungry Indian tribes, ruthless rustlers and seven hundred miles of wild country that he will have to drive his cattle through.  The journey will be long as well as the odds of success, but God help those foolish enough to stand in the way of Whahoo White.
