This book is exploring the wonders of God's plan for the salvation of mankind, but to fully appreciate His work of redemption, we need to understand the immutable holiness of God. Until we grasp this aspect of God's nature, we will not treasure the full sacrificial sin payment Jesus Christ made on the cross. We need to understand that God's righteous requirements had to first be satisfied for Him to be free to extend His forgiving grace to us sinners; it is truly a Heaven or Hell question for everyone: John 14:6, 3:36. Upon acceptance, Christians need to know that while we are once for all saved upon the acceptance of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, there are real consequences for how we live out the gift of our eternal salvation. Since God has now become our Heavenly Father, we need to understand good fathers discipline their children; so when we Christians do not live up to our identity as Christians, we should expect fatherly discipline. It is God's desire for all of His children that we are growing to be more like Jesus. The Bible is also clear, that those of us who take the call of discipleship seriously, God our Father, will reward those sacrifices. This book is rich in Biblical theology and insights into the Christian life; one that I wish was available to me many years ago.
