This book provides a complete translation of "The Book of Litzu," one of the most important texts of Taoist thought that has come down to us from ancient China. The "Book of Litzu" is an essential reference for understanding the principles of Taoism, its teachings, and its vision of man, the universe, and life. The book, which is attributed to the Chinese philosopher "Lizu", takes us on a journey into an amazing intellectual world characterized by depth and sublimity, where ideas are presented about the nature of existence, harmony with the universe, and freedom from the constraints of worldly desires. The book''s paragraphs are open windows into the ancient world of Taoism, and its view of man, who passes through four stages from cradle to grave: childhood, youth, old age, and death. In each of these stages, a person''s nature, energies, and desires are manifested in a different way, until he ultimately reaches a deeper understanding of himself and the world around him. Although the original copy of the book has been lost, the current translation is based on the oldest verified copy available, which gives this work great importance for students of Chinese philosophy and the intellectual heritage of the East.
