Fifty-four papers from the September 2003 conference on rubber present recent research on lifetime prediction, aging, dynamic properties, filler reinforcement, and modeling of stress softening and compressibility. Several papers apply finite element analysis to laminated bearings, the tread pattern of tires, a wedge loaded by a concentrated tensile force, and crack growth in elastomeric components.
