Dr. Anup Tripathi completed his Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with first division from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad, India, in 2000. He subsequently pursued his Master's degree in Mining Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, from 2000 to 2002. He was the Department topper in MTech program, and he was also among the best eight graduate students of IIT Kharagpur selected from all departments to complete his Master's degree project from Germany. He subsequently completed his PhD degree in Mining Engineering with specialization in the area of mine electrical and power systems engineering from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA in 2007.

Dr. Anup Tripathi is presently working as a faculty of Mining Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India. His research interests include mine electrical and power systems engineering, renewable energy systems and environmental pollution control, mining systems optimization, and surface mining and reclamation. He has more than 50 national and international journal and conference publications.
