This book gives information about theory, concepts, practices, and mechanisms of environmental health and toxicology. It discusses ecological processes, climate and natural biogeochemical cycles, food chains, and agro-ecologies to provide a foundational understanding of environmental toxicity.

This book gives information about theory, concepts, practices, and mechanisms of environmental health and toxicology. It discusses ecological processes, climate and natural biogeochemical cycles, food chains, and agro-ecologies to provide a foundational understanding of environmental toxicity including consequences of contaminants on environmental systems. The impact of human activity on terrestrial, aquatic, and marine habitats, as well as the idea of bioindication and biomonitoring as management and monitoring strategies in these environments is also examined.

Features

  • Introduces environmental toxicology and chemistry in the terrestrial ecosystem
  • Discusses the importance of bioindicators and biomonitors in the aquatic environment Examines the global energy dilemma and its impact on climate change
  • Explores influence of environmental pollutants as endocrine-disrupting chemicals
  • Examines occupational health and safety organizations as stakeholders in maintaining environmental sustainability

This book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in environmental science and engineering.
