Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a grotesque but sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment.
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (1797-1851) was an English author. She was also the wife of Percy Bysshe Shelley, whose works she edited. A political radical, Frankenstein is her most famous work.
