India's dramatic literature demonstrates extraordinary range, depth, and sophistication. Thousands of years ago the theory and practice of how to make theatre was detailed in the Natyashastra. Nandi Bhatia is a Professor of English and Writings Studies, and a faculty member in Comparative literature, at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Her research areas include postcolonial and diasporic literature, British India, theatre, and the 1947 Partition of India.
