Sankar Kumar Bhaumik was the Founding Director of the Patliputra School of Economics in Patna. He served as a Professor and Head of the Departments of Economics at Calcutta University and the Central University of South Bihar. He was also the Director of the Institute of Development Studies in Jaipur. His expertise includes econometrics, agricultural economics, and Indian economic development.
