Textile based personal protective equipment (PPE) is one of the fundamental needs for human beings, especially who are working in hazardous environment, namely firefighters, healthcare workers, and agricultural workers. PPE is also a second skin of human protecting wearers from occupational hazards such as flame, fire, viruses. This book focuses on personal protective clothing and equipment used by on-duty workers in various occupation. It comprehensively reviews the desired performances of the textile materials used in PPE for different occupations, design and sustainability aspects of the PPE. This review serves as a reference book for academic and industry product researchers of the PPE in those occupational areas. It addresses these key issues existing in the field of protective clothing and equipment in these identified fields and improvement that should be considered in developing state-of-the-art PPE for improved occupational health and safety to workers.
