In a wonderland where the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat rule, The Rot threatens the sanity and lives of all...

An “expansive magical adventure” – Publishers Weekly on Tinderbox, Book 1 of ‘Tales from the Riven Isles’

The Hatter's Daughter is the third book set in W.A. Simpson's Riven Isles universe.

There is more to the Vine than mortals and immortals know. It reaches its branches and tendrils into realms beyond the Riven Isles. On the night Faith was born, her mother perished, but not before sending Faith to safety, in Underneath. Discovered by The Mad Hatter, he takes Faith home to raise as his own. When the Rot invades, Faith determines to fight. She won’t do it alone. Her childhood friend, Prince Rowan accompanies her. Faith must return to her birthplace to find a Legendary Heroine. But Overland is dangerous, and the minions of the Rot are in pursuit. If she doesn’t succeed, the minions of the Rot will destroy everything they know.

Tales from the Riven Isles is a dark fantasy series set in a world outside of our own, where the characters of myth and fairy-tales exist, and their legends live on. Featuring the novels: 'Tinderbox', 'Tarotmancer', and 'The Hatter's Daughter'.

Wendy has been writing since the age of five and finished her first novel at fourteen. Her debut work, Tinderbox, and its sequel Tarotmancer are available both in-store and online and are the first two books in the Tales from the Riven Isles series. Tinderbox made the Top 100 on the Amazon Best Sellers List in Black & African American Fantasy Fiction and is the 2022 GOLD Winner for Fantasy Foreword Reviews Indie Award. Her works have been compared to N.K. Jemisin, Sarah J. Maas, and Holly Black among others.

Wendy has many other irons in the fire. For example, a futuristic science-fantasy and an MG contemporary fairytale.

She has a great passion for books and reading and loves to discuss business anytime. On a personal note, Wendy considers herself the worlds biggest bibliophile and the original Delaware Native. When shes not writing, she indulges in her favorite pastimes, which include reading, working in her garden, and video gaming and streaming on Twitch as Runic Nightshade.

She shares her home with two cats, the ornery Cinnamon and gentle Spice, who really own the house, and her eldest brother, whom she often refers to online as Big Brother. Wendy is the youngest and only girl in a family of three boys.
