Immanuel Kant gehört zweifellos zu den bedeutendsten europäischen Philosophen. Vor seinem 300. Geburtstag im Jahr 2024 haben im Rahmen der Kant-Dekade (seit 2014) verschiedene Aktivitäten neue Aspekte seines Wirkens herausgearbeitet, doch ist bisher kaum die Bedeutung der Wirkungsstätte Kants, Königsbergs und der Albertina, näher beleuchtet worden. Dies war Anlass zu einer interdisziplinären Tagung, die die Historische Kommission für ost- und westpreußische Landesforschung, das Ostpreußische Landesmuseum und das Institut für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen in Nordosteuropa im städtischen Museum Lüneburg veranstaltet haben. Diese wird im vorliegenden Band dokumentiert. Die Beiträge untersuchen die Bedeutung Kants für die Theorie der Humanität, Kants frühe Jahre, die Entwicklungen an der Königsberger Universität in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. In advance of his 300th birthday in 2024, in the context of the Kant Decade (since 2014), many activities have shed new light on several aspects of his work, but the importance of Kant''s basis, Königsberg, both town and Albertus university, has been widely neglected. This was the reason why the Historische Kommission für ost- und westpreußische Landesforschung, the Ostpreußisches Landesmuseum, the Institut für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen in Nordosteuropa and the Civic Museum in Lüneburg organized an interdisciplinary conference in Lüneburg in 2021 which is documented in the present volume. The articles discuss the importance of Kant for the theory of humaneness, his early years, the developments at the university of Königsberg in the second half of the 18th century, as well as the later reception of Kant.
