This book presents an innovative approach to intensive treatment for eating disorders in adolescents, rooted entirely in the cognitive-behavioral framework. It offers a comprehensive overview of the treatment program, enriched with numerous clinical examples to illustrate key concepts. The text provides practical guidance on implementing cognitive behaviour therapy in high-intensity care settings, such as intensive outpatient programs and inpatient units, specifically for individuals with severe eating disorders. It also outlines how a multidisciplinary team can cohesively deliver a unified therapeutic intervention. Readers will learn how to apply a structured, manual-based treatment approach within demanding, real-world clinical environments. This resource is ideal for professionals involved in the care of eating disorder patientsincluding psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, dietitians, and educatorswith particular value for those working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in intensive care settings.

Riccardo Dalle Grave, MD, is Director of the Department of Eating and Weight Disorders at Villa Garda Hospital (Garda, VR, Italy). In this department, he developed an original treatment for the eating disorder based entirely on enhanced cognitive behavior therapy (CBT-E), the adaptation of outpatient CBT-E for adolescents with eating disorders, which is recommended by the NICE guidelines, and the cognitive behavior therapy for obesity (CBT-OB) and binge-eating disorder.  Currently, the focus of his research is evaluating the cognitive behavior therapy of adult and adolescent patients with eating disorders and obesity, respectively, both in outpatient and inpatient settings.  He is the director of the master course for health professionals' 1° Certificate in Eating Disorder and Obesity'. He also teaches at several Italian psychotherapy schools and supervises teams in Europe, the US, Australia, and Middles West.  Ho is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals, a fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorder (AED).
