Antjie Krog is in die Vrystaat gebore en het daar grootgeword. Sy was die redakteur van die tydskrif Die Suid-Afrikaan en het later jare as n radiojoernalis gewerk wat die Waarheids-en-versoeningskommissie se verhore gedek het. Sy het ook vir verskeie koerante en joernale geskryf. Antjie het die grootste pryse gewen in byna al die genres en media waarin sy gewerk het: poësie, niefiksie en vertaling. Maar sy het hoofsaaklik as n digter geleef. Haar bekende poësieversamelings vir kinders is Vetplantfeetjies en Fynbosfeetjies.
THE AUTHORS Vickie de Beer is a freelance food stylist, recipe developer, writer, and photographer with years of experience. For over 20 years, she was the food editor for rooi rose and in that time wrote contributions to many other magazines. Currently, she is the food editor for Lose it!. Kombuistaal is Vickies first cookbook for children.
Antjie Krog was born and grew up in the Free State. She became editor of the Afrikaans current-affairs magazine Die Suid-Afrikaan and later worked as a radio journalist covering the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings, all the while writing extensively for newspapers and journals. She has won major awards in almost all the genres and media in which she has worked: poetry, non-fiction and translation. But, mainly, she has lived as a poet. Antjies poetry collections for children, Vetplantfeetjies and Fynbosfeetjies, are vastly popular.
