This book analyzes laws relating to biotechnology from the perspectives of USA, Europe, UK and India. Consisting of nine chapters, the book covers scientific aspects, commercial applications,  policy aspects, intellectual property, trade, environmental, human rights and regulatory aspects of biotechnology updated up to 2025, with case laws analysis and legislative updates. There are two chapters on public policy and biodiversity aspects of biotechnology. The book presents global perspectives on the subject as the work is done keeping in mind the readers from different parts of the globe including but not confined to USA, European Union, UK and India wherein international laws, regional laws, national laws from the said regions with case laws and factual analysis. It is meant for stake holders from law, science and technology with its multi-disciplinary approach as it presents both scientific point of view and legal perspective.

Sreenivasulu NS is Professor of Law at West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata, India. Prior to that, he was a faculty at National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India, and University of Mysore, India. An established scholar on science and technology law and intellectual property law, he has to his credit 150 publications, including 25 books, monographs and edited volumes, 30 book chapters and 95 journal articles. He is an international legal consultant at various international organizations, forums, institutions, and agencies. He is also involved in policy framing, legal advisory, human resource development and capacity building with international organizations, central and state government departments and agencies in different countries including India. He has authored the previous edition of this book, published in 2016.
