This is an unfolding, entertaining story of an early life of a young boy in the forties, which were WWII war years. Many of the topics were recalled from memories of experience, and some were stories remembered that had been shared by others. They are stories of learning, sometimes the hard way, and reveal much about interacting with others in the rapidly changing life of a child. Most of these shared memories involve family life and relationships. It is vividly revealed that family and church seemed a much larger part of life then than now.
