David Bushman's and Mark Givens' engaging retellings take readers through the history of the crimes and the personal anecdotes of family and friends who were impacted by the deaths. Breakdowns of the crime scenes, timelines of the victims and the suspects, and various clues give readers a personal guide to the unsolved murders that have rocked New York.
David Bushman is the author of five nonfiction books, including two previous books on true crime: Murder at Teals Pond: Hazel Drew and the Mystery That Inspired Twin Peaks and Forget It, Jake, Its Schenectady: The True Story Behind The Place Beyond the Pines. He serves on the board of the New York chapter of the Mystery Writers of America. He spent over two decades as a television curator at The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television + Radio) in New York. Before that he was program director at TV Land and a television editor at Variety.

Mark Givens co-authored the true crime Amazon bestseller Murder at Teals Pond: Hazel Drew and the Mystery That Inspired Twin Peaks, published in January of 2022 by Thomas & Mercer.
