The volume starts with a guide to using the book followed by sections on literary style, Latin metre and technical terms. Each section of the book that follows has a short introduction to the author and the literary-historical context of their work. The prescribed texts are set out in clear passages facing commentary notes, with further information on GCSE vocabulary and key terms as well as study questions. The full GCSE vocabulary is provided at the back of the book.
