Resting on a number of empirical research papers, this eight paper volume explores how digital media affect both behavior within an organization and the emotional state of employees. Use of the Internet, of course, plays a major part in this, and the very first paper explores the all too common case of email overload. The second section of the book includes three chapters on learning in the workplace, often through the use of interactive games, as well as a final chapter on making use of webcam tests in hiring. Edited by Derks and Bakker, who are both part of the work and organizational psychology department at Erasmus University, this book is appropriate for both professional use and as a textbook.
