Such is the mantra of the latest collection of essays, some 80 of them, presented at the second through fourth irregular conclaves, Gathering for Gardner, at which mathematicians, magicians, and puzzlists honor Martin Gardner, their high priest. Much of the material is anecdotal about their craft, but of course many puzzles find their way in, not all of which require mathematical or logical adeptness.
