Almost everyday, industrial companies' press releases announce downsizings, alliances, and restructuring of organizations as a reaction to changing conditions. The continuous stream of announcements makes us believe that organizations adapt themselves to the environment.

(R)Evolution studies the adaptation of industrial organisations to the dynamics of the environment by drawing an analogy with evolutionary biology, by extensively studying literature in management science, and by case studies.
