It is always appealing to investigate the transport properties of "e;non-easily handled"e; materials, as the disordered materials have always been. If these properties are due to the motion of particles dressed with phonons, like small polaron's, the everyday life of a theoretician becomes very interesting and amusing. I am very grateful to Dr. L. R. Friedman, who introduced me to this world early on in my scientific life, and for his guidance, friendship and support since the late 70s.I was very lucky and honored to enjoy the friendship and support all these years of distinguished physicists, such as Prof. Emeritus Prof. M. Pollak and DistinguishedProf. A. L. Efros. I cannot forget Emeritus Prof. E. Economou, Distinguished Profs. Das Sarma and S. Datta, and Profs. J. Sing and J. K. Jain for their support during trying times. I wish to also extend my deepest gratitude to my dearest students, friends and colleagues, Dr V. Karavolas, Assist. Prof. C. Simserides, Dr. G. Hionis, Dr. M. Tsetseri, Dr. A. Zora, Dr. M. Dimakogianni and Dr. M. Tsaousidou, who inspired me and brighten my days. This book is dedicated to my family, for their patience, understanding, and encouragement throughout all of the 41 years of my academic career.
