This Academic Skills Development book is a companion for entry-level higher education students. This book highlights the core academic skills required for success at universities, university colleges, HE in FE, and the variety of contemporary Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The authors draw on their years of teaching in HE to motivate students and build their confidence. Studying at university level is exciting and you get to delve into your subject specialism in Education Studies or the Humanities. However, it is vital for you to know the essential academic skills you need to thrive and excel in your studies. In this book we make no assumptions about what students ought to know, we identify and specify the academic skills you need, and show you how to develop them.
