This book equips educators to design learning experiences that stick—long after the final test is over. Offering practical strategies, this guide shows you how to spark curiosity, deepen conceptual understanding, and promote meaningful student agency through your lessons.

Are your students merely memorizing content for the next test or are they truly developing the thinking skills they'll need for life? This book equips educators to design learning experiences that stick – long after the final test is over. Offering practical strategies, this guide shows you how to spark curiosity, deepen conceptual understanding, and promote meaningful student agency through your lessons. Drawing from 25 years of classroom wisdom, Trevor R. L. Jones introduces the Enhanced Learning by Doing (LbD) Cycle – an innovative instructional model that works across grade levels and subject areas, offering a flexible framework that builds on your professional expertise to elevate student outcomes. Through authentic classroom narratives, student reflections, and ready-to-implement strategies, you'll learn how to:

• Create interesting entry points for connecting your lessons to students' real lives.

• Lead hands-on activities that reveal important patterns and relationships.

• Integrate reflection practices that foster metacognition and personal growth.

The Teacher’s Guide to Learning by Doing provides both inspiration and practical action steps for K-12 teachers in any setting – public schools, private academies, international programs, or alternative learning environments – who want to transform their teaching practice. Your journey toward concept-based, inquiry-driven instruction starts here!
