Chih-Ming Cheng
Cheng-Ta Li is a professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and is a division chief at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. Professor Li has been devoted in the field of TRD for over 15 years. Now, he is ranked top <1% in the field of TRD with multi-disciplinary collaborations. Based on the result of Expertscape (2011-2021), he is currently ranked #< 1% (0.77%) in the world in the field of TRD and is the highest among scientists in Taiwan. This book, inviting internationally renowned experts in the field, aims to clarify unsettled issues related to TRD, to provide a better understanding about TRD, and to improve treatment efficacy for TRD. Dr. Chih-Ming Cheng received his psychiatric residency training and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Taipei Veterans General Hospital(VGHTPE), Taiwan. After training, he became an attending psychiatrist in the YuanShan branch of VGHTPE and then back to VGHTPE in 2020. In academic research, he followed Prof. Cheng-Ta Li, Prof. Tung-Ping Su, and Prof. Ya-Mei Bai in the field of neuromodulation, neuroinflammation, functional neuroimaging and new antidepressant clinical trials, and Dr. Mu-Hong Chen in the field of ketamine and epidemiologic studies. His research interests are brain stimulation and epidemiology in psychiatric disorders, especially major depressive disorders. He now investigates trans-diagnostic heredity and excess mortality of psychiatric disorders and the heredity and treatment characteristics of treatment-resistant major depressive disorders by using the Taiwan national health insurance registry database, as well as the efficacy of rTMS/iTBS intervention in treatment-resistant depressed patients. He is also one of the committee experts for brain electromagnetic stimulation and treatment, Taiwan Society of Biological Psychiatry and Neuropsychopharmacology(TSBPN) and the TSBPN Working group for renewing Taiwan's recommendation of pharmacological treatment for bipolar disorder. Dr. Cheng has published about sixty peer-reviewed articles, including publications in Molecular Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychological Medicine, Psychiatry and clinical neurosciences, Allergy, and Psychiatry Research..etc.
