There are several walks from each base, ranging from relaxed shorter routes through to longer day walks, and working up to multi-day options if you want a bigger challenge.

Elise Downing is a runner, writer and speaker, best known for being the first woman to run 5,000 miles self-supported around the coast of Britain. Its difficult to overstate how completely unprepared she was for her coastal run in 2016, and although shes finally learned to read a map now (phew), shes determined that you dont need to be a super athlete to do fun things in the outdoors. Coasting, Elises account of her adventure, was chosen as one of The Times Best Books of 2021 and longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year 2021. These days shes mostly trying to get better at running up and down hills, and is never happier than on a multi-day trail holiday, with a pack full of snacks and wearing the same pair of socks three days in a row. @elisecdowning
