The volume addresses current issues in the acquisition and learning of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics in various learning situations. It presents insights into L1 acquisition (by typically developing children and by children with a cochlear implant), 2L1 acquisition, and L2/L3 learning in a formal setting. The volume discusses issues such as the acquisition of aspect, modality, and definiteness in L1 acquisition, syntactic complexity in typical and impaired language settings, or s-schwa production in L2. It will be of interest to students and researchers in language acquisition and language learning, in typical and atypical circumstances, as well as to speech therapists.
